Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no database, your bills stay on your device.
What is stored, and where
The bill splitter, trip expense calculator, rent calculator and tip pool calculator save your latest inputs in your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it.
Share links
A share link contains the bill itself, encoded after the # sign. Browsers don't send that part of a link to servers, so we never receive it. Anyone with the link can read the names and amounts in it, so share it only with the people at the table.
Receipt scanning
When you tap "Scan a receipt photo" or paste receipt text, that image or text is sent once to our server and passed to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway to read the line items. We don't store the image, the text or the result. Only scan receipts you're comfortable sending for processing; avoid photos that show full card numbers.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and doesn't track you across sites.
